a splendid escape

Hello everyone! For this post, i would like to share my experience about my trip to Garuda Wisnu Kencana cultural park, Bali.

Bali is the right place to go to when you need to take a rest from this promiscuous world.

I've been to Bali a few times before and its beauty has never fail to amaze me.

Last year, i went to a local cultural park called Garuda Wisnu Kencana or GWK for short, that is located in Ungasan, South of Bali. The cultural park cover a total area of 240 hectares and you need to spend Rp125.000 to enter the site. GWK statue is carved by Nyoman Nuarta, a Balinese stone carver along with his team for 28 years. With a height of 121-meter tall, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue is the 3rd tallest statue in the world and will be able to be seen inside a sweep of 20km from Kuta, Sanur, and Nusa Dua. GWK itself is a statue that is devoted to hold onto and to protect the workmanship, social, and culinary parts of the island.

There also other venues such as Street Theater, Tirtha Agung temple, Kura Kura Plaza statue that is devoted to guard buildings and places from natural disaster, Kencana Souvenir shop and many others. And if you're sick of seeing statues there, which i'm sure you wont, you could enjoy GWK famous Barong performance and Bali's well known traditional dance, Tari Kecak which is constantly held at 6 pm everyday.

My stomach always feel full there because there are a lot of good food to accompany your visit there. You don't need to worry about gaining weight, since you have a pretty long path to walk to if you wanna see the GWK statue in a close distance. But, you could always rent a segway or ride a golf cart to reach your destination if you dont want to walk.

The point is, GWK will mesmerize you for its breathtaking  statue.
